Richard Hardie Ashington and Silverlink dealerships will soon be taking stock of the brand new, hotly anticipated Fiat 500X, designed to inject a bit more Italian pazazz into the already popular 500 range.
Revealed at the Paris show in 2014, the 500X will offer both front- and four-wheel drive options offering the choice of two body styles, plus a choice of petrol and diesel engines combined with manual and automatic transmissions.
The 500X also stacks up for size – its 71cm longer, 17cm wider, 12cm taller than the standard Fiat 500.
Engine choices are varied; with the Fiat 500X you can choose from a 1.4 or 1.6 ‘MultiAir’ turbo, driving a six-speed manual or dual-clutch box. Diesel options include 1.3, 1.6 and 2 litre turbo-diesel.
The four-wheel drive 500X has been fitted with a nine-speed auto – ratio-loaded gearbox that boosts Fiat’s full power to the front wheels with normal driving. There is also an electronic locking that engages the rear of the car when drive is needed from the back end. This means you’re ready to go in all weathers with the new 500X.
There will be a varied choice of 12 body colours and 8 alloy wheel designs; the largest is a sizeable 18-inches. Other stylish additions will include a colour touch-screen and ‘Drive Mode Selector’ which gives the driver the option of altering the engine, brake, steering and transmission between three drive modes: Auto, Sport and All Weather.
