The handsome Fiat Tipo range turned the heads of many family and executive drivers when it made its debut at the 2015 Istanbul Motor Show. Since then, the range has gone on to collect the prestigious Autobest ‘Best Buy Car of Europe 2016’ accolade, chosen by a panel of 26 renowned international journalists.
Now, the Tipo family has caused yet another stir as Fiat officials announce the details of the supreme spaciousness, outstanding efficiency and lavish standard equipment available in both hatchback and station wagon form. Despite its sleek, elegant demeanour, the Tipo hatchback is surprisingly roomy, boasting the ability to sit three six-foot plus adults in the rear thanks to class-leading legroom, with the added benefit of a cavernous boot capable of holding 440 litres.
And if you’re a family who enjoy long weekend road trips, barbeques, golfing or any other such activities, the Station Wagon body style adds an extra 20cm of length with 550 litres of boat space, more than enough for all your equipment and luggage. There’s also the added versatility of flip-and-fold 60/40 split rear seats to allow for a completely flat load space.
Three Lavish Trim Levels
Both Hatchback and Station Wagon body styles will be available with a choice of three trim levels. Generous standard equipment includes air con, remote central locking, front, six airbags, DAB digital radio, USB and Bluetooth connectivity with steering wheel remote controls. The Station Wagon body style adds rear electric windows and longitudinal roof bars.
Mid-range trims benefit from a five-inch Uconnect touchscreen infotainment system, a leather-trimmed steering wheel and gear knob, rear power windows, LED daytime running lights, 16-inch alloy wheels, front fog lights, rear parking sensors and cruise control.
Those who opt for the top level specification will benefit from sat nav with TomTom LIVE services including HD Traffic, alongside climate control, 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic lights and wipers, rear view camera, driver’s side lumbar support and a chrome pack.
Each engine option blends performance with supremely low running costs. You can choose from a selection of 1.3, 1.4 and 1.6 litre petrol and diesel engines, with a torque-converter six-speed automatic transmission petrol available for those wishing to drive automatic. The most frugal choice returns a staggering 76.3mpg with a mere 98g/km C02.
The Tipo Hatchback will be priced from just £12,995 OTR with the Tipo Station Wagon starting at £13,995. The Tipo family is set to go on sale at Fiat Dealers across the UK in September 2016.
